Thursday Featured Cabaret Website: The Cabaret Page at At McElrath Cabaret

Welcome to McElrath Cabaret–We hope you enjoy our cabaret blog!

Thursday is the day of the week when McElrath Cabaret features some of our favorite cabaret blogs, websites or performers. Today I want to spend a moment to feature the Cabaret page at the informative website  If you go to the main page of this website, you’ll find the Cabaret page listed in the sidebar under the heading “Broadway Extras.” has a Facebook page, as well as an online presence on Twitter and Google +.

Once at the Cabaret page, you will find several articles that would be of interest to cabaret entertainers and enthusiasts.  There are notices of upcoming cabaret shows, for example.  You’ll also find photo coverage of cabaret shows, as well as cabaret reviews.

Today’s offerings at the site list that Stacy Sullivan is bringing her cabaret show “It’s a Good Day:  A Tribute to Miss Peggy Lee” to the Metropolitan Room starting on October 17th.  There’s also a photo gallery of Ann Hampton Callaway’s recent Barbra Streisand tribute show at 54 Below.

The website goes on the give an announcement for an encore performance by Mardi Grant of her first cabaret show. Life Holds On, says that she’s performing at The Duplex in New York City on Sept. 30th and Oct. 10th.  Her show is described like this:  ”Life Holds On” celebrates the debut of cabaret singer Mardi Grant and her journey to her first New York show. Selections include songs from Dick Gallagher,Trisha Yearwood, and the Beatles, and more.  Directed by Lina Koutrakos with Musical Direction by Rick Jensen.  $15 cover + 2 drink minimum, MAC and Industry rate of $10 + 2 drink minimum.”

There is also a great interview with Janis Siegel, the alto from Manhattan Transfer, who is doing a solo show at 54 Below in NYC tonight.

Some upcoming event information is also given for clubs outside of New York City; one example is for San Francisco’s Rzazz Room, where Denise Perrier will be performing her cabaret showt Both Sides Now on October 2nd.  Palm Dessert’s Arthur Newman Theatre was the venue for Candice Hick’s cabaret show entitled “Feeling Good,” which was presented on September 23rd.

This is just a small sampling of all the great cabaret information that you will find on this website.

The Cabaret page includes photo coverage of a recent show with Michael Feinstein and Marilyn Maye that was held at Feinsteins.  Here is a fun video with music and little interviews at the end that include both Maye and Feinstein–enjoy!

I encourage you, if you are a cabaret entertainer or an avid audience member, to check out the Cabaret page!
