New Weekly Post Lineup Starting On Monday, January 30th At McElrath Cabaret Blog!

Athena McElrath here from McElrath Cabaret.  I promised some changes to this blog in a recent post, but things got delayed due to updates that had to be made to the blog (how’d ya like it so far??).  But, we are starting in on Monday, January 30, 2012 with a new Weekly Post Lineup, and now I’d like to share it with you.

The new weekly post lineup for your enjoyment:

Mondays:  Cabaret Soiree Linkup–If you have a musical (not burlesque) cabaret blog, you may link a recent post about a cabaret topic to this site.  (If you don’t have a cabaret blog yet, it is easy and free to start one if you want.  And we always want cabaret enthusiasts to visit all of the links and become acquainted with cabaret performers!)  More details to come on Monday.

Tuesday:  Tip Tuesday–We will give our best tips related to all aspects of  cabaret.

Wednesday:  Ask A Question–Here I will put a question to you, perhaps in the form of a poll, and this will be an opportunity for you to let us know what is on your mind concerning the world of cabaret, and what is going on in your sphere of cabaret wherever you live.  Hopefully this will provide a jumping-off point for a good discussion around cabaret.

Thursday:  Featured Cabaret Blogs and Performers–Here I will feature some favorite cabaret blogs and performers.  Some from the present, and likely some from the past.

Friday:  Cabaret Through Time–This will be a bit of a Cabaret Timeline, with the idea being that it will be a spot where historical cabaret is presented.  The idea of the epochs of cabaret, with the 20-40s a time when solo performers ruled, then the 50-60s when nightclub entertainers came to the foreground, and then the lull in cabaret found in the 70s and the resurgence that occurred in the 80s.

I’d love some feedback on this idea–if you have a suggestion to make, please feel free to leave a comment below.  We’d like to offer you entertaining and informative posts about all aspects of cabaret, so that you can learn, become informed, and be entertained!  As a result of this pursuit, I’d like to try to build an online cabaret community, so we have a place to come to talk about cabaret.  I hope to also provide some special posts, perhaps with interviews, video and/or podcasts interspersed, depending upon how much I can learn and take in about producing all of this!

This may evolve and change a bit over time, but we will give it a good try and see how it goes!

To reach us, you simply type “mcelrathcabaret.com” into your brower’s URL line at the top of the page–that will get you to the McElrath Cabaret Blog!

The more, the merrier, so please feel free to pass on this information to anyone who you believe would be interested in reading cabaret posts and participating online in a newly forming cabaret community of performers and enthusiasts!
