For those who may be new to us, welcome and let us introduce ourselves!  KJ & Athena McElrath, also known as McElrath Cabaret, perform a classic cabaret act of piano and singing reminiscent of what you might have heard from the 1920s to the 1950s in New York’s swankiest nightspots.  With a popular mix of songs from the heyday of Vaudeville, Broadway and Hollywood, they bring warmth, humor and authenticity in style, entertaining enthusiastic audiences since 1996. Audiences say that they, “Enjoyed the lively songs and the humor–it gave us a chance to laugh!”, “Enjoyed all the variety,” and that our shows are “Sophisticated!”

Our show for March is Cabaret Month 2015 is entitled:  Cocktails, Memories and You, in which we explore the wit and romance of relationships reflected in the ambience of the cocktail hour.  We are having so much fun right now rehearsing this show, and can’t wait to share all of the songs and fun with you at Egan’s in March!

And this event is particularly engaging because we get to share the stage with some popular cabaret artists hailing from Seattle.  On March 6th, we’ll be with the divine Joanne Klein.  Here is a bio and show description for her:

Joanne Klein in Enjoy Cozy Cocktails with Cool Cupcake, Joanne Klein!

Let’s spend a comfy evening with cozy cocktails and that chanteuse Joanne Klein, with her cool conductor John “Fingers of Fury” Engerman… crooning, comedy, chardonnay or cider, it’s all a colossally captivating and cracking good time!! Ms. Klein has sung, danced, and acted on theatre stages, cabaret spaces, clubs, venues, and parks.  She has toured nationally in theatre and bands performing in Canada, New York City, Paris, and Costa Rica.  She worked at Disneyland’s Fantasyland theatre production of “Snow White.” Joanne teaches acting at Seattle Talent.

And a bio and show description for the lovely and talented Helene Smart with whom we’ll share the stage on March 13th:

Celebrating the cocktail hour, and the sweet anticipation that comes from putting the day’s work aside and imagining what lies ahead. Helene Smart has been entertaining sold-out cabaret audiences for the past decade – ever since she discovered the joy of combining her love of words with her love of music and sharing the result with others. Her skills have been honed at the best of the Diva Camps including the International Cabaret Conference at Yale, Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts Center, and work with Andrea Marcovicci and other cabaret greats. Music director and accompanist: John Engerman.

We look forward to seeing you at a show!
