Dorothy Loudon–A Broadway Star, A Cabaret Entertainer, and A Very Funny Performer

 

I’ve enjoyed listening to Dorothy Loudon’s At The Blue Angel album that I discovered this week on YouTube, and I just want to share a bit more about her for your education and enjoyment.

 Dorothy Loudon was an amazing entertainer, so very funny on both the stage and screen.  She was honored with a Tony award for her portrayal as Miss Hannigan in Annie.  Irving Berlin, Stephen Sondheim and Katherine Hepburn all had nice things to say about Ms. Loudon.  She had an amazing nightclub career, working in clubs such as The Blue Angel and Ruban Bleu in New York, as well as headlining in Las Vegas.  She also appeared in the film Midnight In The Garden Of Good and Evil
